DAYS AND NIGHTS…

We spent four days in Mambia and I have a new understanding of the verse that says God’s mercies are new every morning. Each night we were there was difficult. There are many bats living in the attic just above our wicker celing. At night they make tons of noise as they fly around screaching and clawing at the metal roof. We also have a few trees with lots of balls about the size of golf balls. This is the season that they fall from the trees. Every ten to fifteen minutes one will fall and hit the metal roof. When it does it sounds like a gunshot and often will wake us up out of a dead sleep. For the first two nights Cedar had a bad fever and we were up with him on various occasions. On one of the occasions we had to change everything and wash his blankie because he threw up on all of it. It was enough to make Jenn want to leave and never come back.

The mornings were quite different however. The air was cool and everything was quiet. we would wake up slowly and enjoy the beautiful veiw of the mountain side from our kitchen window. Jenn would venture out onto the hill with her coffee and bible to spend some quality time with the Lord. It was such a refreshing difference and really gave us the strength to go through the next day.
